Tell ten is a ticket system that’s used by the major film companies and the media to give away cinema tickets for previews. For some films they’ve got thousands of tickets to give away, and for other films they only have a few hundred tickets. Everything is done on a first come first served basis, so it’s quite important to make sure that you’re signed up as a member and to check regularly to see what’s on offer.

Tell Ten send out e-mails and texts to your mobile phone when a new film preview is available. This means that everyone pretty much gets the information at the same time and then it’s down to individuals to log on to the site and see if they can get a chance of some tickets if they want them.

Not all films are shown as previews in all cinemas, so do make sure first thing when you go to a site when a new film is available that it’s being shown somewhere close enough to you that you can get to it. You’ll need to choose the venue as you request your tickets, so it isn’t too easy to forget to do this. If a film isn’t being shown locally to you unfortunately Tell Ten can’t do anything about that. It’s the film companies that choose the locations of the previews, not Tell Ten.

Sign up, keep your eye open for texts or e-mails about new films you want to see, and then make a rush to the site to try for some free tickets when one comes up that you like the look of. You will need to take some ID with you to the cinema if you get free tickets – and the number of tickets you can get does vary, sometimes it’s just one ticket, sometimes up to four are available per request so that you can take your friends and stop them being too jealous.
